Mid-State Technical College collaborated with KW2 to redesign its website to establish itself as a leading technical college in Wisconsin. The old website was cluttered and hard to navigate, making it difficult for users to find essential information about programs, admissions, and student services. The redesign aimed to simplify navigation, enhance pathways for exploring programs and registration, and create a welcoming and authentic digital presence that reflects Mid-State’s values.
As the UX lead, I guided the project from discovery through design, starting with stakeholder meetings and a comprehensive content audit to identify obstacles such as confusing navigation, a cumbersome registration process, and underperforming current student pages. From these insights, I developed the information architecture and content strategy to establish clear, intuitive pathways for all audiences. I then designed wireframes that introduced a fresh structure and hierarchy, and collaborated with our design team to translate the UX framework into a cohesive, engaging visual system that positioned Mid-State as a modern, student-focused institution.
